THE SILENT RANGE

Silent Yachts present the first and only ocean-going production yachts in the world that are fully sustainable and powered by solar energy.

Silent Yachts was founded on the dream of eliminating the industries effects on the worlds oceans, without sacrificing luxury. The future of luxury yachting is being realized, it’s noiseless, self-sufficient, whilst respecting nature and the environment.

It is both our philosophy and our commitment to offer the best available solar-powered yachts, uniquely designed and constructed, offering unlimited worldwide range and electric motors capable of achieving speeds of up to 20 knots

Many years of research and proven use have demonstrated that a Silent yacht can cruise exclusively on solar power for up to 100 miles per day, whilst still running all household appliances including air conditioning, permanently.

High levels of luxury require permanently available energy. On a Silent yacht, you can watch TV, enjoy a cold beer, have the air conditioning running and produce up to 2000 liters of drinking water per day, all whilst cruising, without starting a combustion engine.

High-efficiency solar cells and light-weight, Lithium ion -Batteries provide ample energy. Range is unlimited with solar powered electric propulsion, therefore more than Transocean-range.

Each yacht is equipped with a diesel generator to charge the batteries should the need arise, due to longer periods of bad weather or extended durations where a higher speed is required. This generator will automatically start when the batteries register below 30%, it seamlessly and automatically integrates into the charging system. This also serves as a safety backup for direct propulsion.

SILENT 60 & 62 3-DECK

The Silent 60 & 62 are by far the most popular model, and represents our entry level size range.
Even within this size range the possibility of it being owner operator is very real, with simplified docking, reduced maintenance, automated systems and remote monitoring, making single handed operation simple.

However if you’re looking for the assistance of crew, the 60 & 62 also offers surprisingly comfortable crew accommodation for a yacht in this size rang.

Exterior design

The in-house sleek and futuristic exterior styling of the Silent 60/62 exudes “next generation”, reflecting the overall ethos behind the company.
The design is led by the functionality, efficiency and performance, rather than having to make sacrifices for aesthetics, therefore ensuring it’s unmatchable operation.
Commanding vertical windows ensure minimal exposure to direct sunlight, and large overhangs from the coach roof provide shading through most of the day, maximizing air conditioning efficiency.
Exterior social spaces have been optimized for guest purposes, and can be further optioned to fit the owners exact needs.

The development of the 3-deck option can be configured as either an open flybridge, or enclosed deck featuring an upper salon or owners suite. This is a game changer when it comes to usable guest spaces and overall on board comfort.

Interior Design

Whether you want an on deck master stateroom or a completely open plan salon, there are multiple layout variations to meet your exact needs.
The in-house design team will work with you “one on one” to select colors, fabrics, veneers, floors and counter tops. Everything down to the throw pillows are customized, to create a bespoke interior that perfectly express your individual style.

SILENT 80 & 80 3 DECK

The 80 is a formidable vessel offering huge volumes with an overwhelming feeling of luxury, comfort and tranquility.
If you’re looking for something to discover the world with, whilst enjoying the best that yachting has to offer, then look no further.
With a jaw dropping open plan layout, expansive staterooms, enough exterior space to throw the most extravagant parties, and ample toy storage to keep even the most demanding teens busy for days, the Silent 80 does not disappoint.

Exterior design

Taking its lines from the hugely successful Silent 60 & 62, the Silent 80 pushes things to the next level.
Utilizing the same smart thinking with regards to vertical windows, to reduce thermal transfer from direct sunlight and shade from the roof overhang, the 80 combines function and form to create a sharp futuristic looking yacht.

The aft deck is a creatively functional area incorporating multiple features such as exterior dining, , lounging seats and full service wet bar. Whilst the foredeck is elegantly simplistic, focusing on sun bathing, relaxing, and peacefully taking in your stunning surroundings.

Interior Design

The volumes in the 80 are incredible, with a completely open plan main deck and options for floor to ceiling windows, this luxury sprawling space has an opulent penthouse feel.
By eliminating the need for built in cabinetry on the main deck (often needed in order to increase headroom in the cabins below), designers have the freedom to maximize all available space in this bespoke and unique deck.

Similar to the 60 & 62, the 80 can be configured with an on deck master suite, or with a completely open plan salon.

The 3-Deck version greatly increases the usable volume of the yacht, dedicate this upper deck to a master suite, entertaining salon, or vast open flybridge.

SILENT 120

“The Explorer”. A homage back to the days when the brave were continually seeking endless horizons. The same way an adventurous spirit took to exploring the ocean and dared to go beyond the limit of one´s imagination, similar courage and passion is required to envision and expand the capabilities of solar electric yachts. The SILENT 120 Explorer is the boldest expression of solar powered yachting yet.

Exterior design

A revolutionary design from the ground up. The exterior profile demands your attention from every angle, from the imposing and aggressive bow to the tranquil spa like aft deck, this yacht keeps you coming back for more. From multiple sun bathing areas, a pool, full service bar and exterior dining, to endless toy storage capacity and two large tender garages, the incredible Silent 100 & 120 has something for everyone.

Interior Design

Following the spa like ambiance set by the exterior, the interior exudes simple luxury and relaxation. With two stunning salons surrounded by large aspect windows, six en suite staterooms, an office, gym and sports room, there’s nothing you’re left longing for.

Interior styling is an open slate, dream as big as you like and adorn the yacht with the most elaborate of visions, or sit back and allow renowned designer Marco Casali to create an exquisite mecca of naturally inspired beauty.

THE SILENT DIFFERENCE

  • All electrical components are of high industrial quality and are engineered / built in Europe and the USA.

Motors, inverters and their cables are IP69 certified. This means that they’re rated to work when permanently submerged in highly pressurized water. In comparison to a conventional diesel powered propulsion system an electric motor is far more reliable as the only moving parts are the rotor and its two bearings.

All wiring is tin-coated and all plugs feature a custom design which prevents humidity and water from entering. Additionally, all parts exposed to the marine environment are made of corrosion resistant materials.

  • All vital components are redundant to ensure double safety. The configuration of all components makes sure an overload is impossible, deeming the solar-electric drivetrain far safer than conventional propulsion systems. We are also proud to say that our catamarans were the first to be certified according to DIN EN ISO 16315 for the marine operations of electrically powered yachts.

In the unlikely event of a failure of the battery system, the generator can directly power the drive motors, as a “get home safe” system.

  • Underwater lines are optimized by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and towing-tank tests. The lightweight construction is a result of bionic design, the use of carbon fibers and high-quality resins.

Interior furniture is made of stiff and lightweight composite plates with real wood-veneer. This reduces the weight significantly to about half the weight of a conventionally constructed and powered yacht.

Each kg/Lb saved is equivalent to less wave drag and friction and therefore less energy required to move the vessel through the water. Overall, this leads to high levels of efficiency enabling fast and self-sustaining propulsion.

Salon and cabins are wrapped in thermal insulation. Furthermore, all windows are shaded by either the roof and/or the hull, thus lowering the energy consumption needed to keep the interior at a comfortable temperature.

  • The photovoltaic modules recharge the batteries with a maximum output of 17 kWp on the 60 & 62’s and 26 kWp on the 80’s, these are designed to be the main power source of our yachts. We use the most efficient, most advanced and highest quality modules currently available. Their arrangement, the positioning and the regulation of charge are some of the main secrets and reasons why our yachts are able to harvest that much energy from the sun - sufficient to power all household appliances, all devices that you need for your comfort and even the propulsion system.

  • High safety and flexible system configurations were the design principles during the development of the RS series Lithium-Ion battery. A modular and compact design and adding a redundant BMS creates a unique cell-to-cell propagation protection, thus taking safety to the next level. The liquid thermal management keeps the battery cells at optimal operating temperature to extend cycle life and to improve the peak power performance. These features make this battery ideal for our yachts.

Protecting, monitoring and controlling a battery pack is very important to create a safe, reliable and easy-to-use system. The MG Master LV or HV is the safety and control unit of the batteries. It protects the connected battery modules against over-charging, over-discharging, over-temperature, under-temperature and controls the balancing of the battery cells. Besides a safety function, the MG Master LV or HV monitors and tracks other important parameters to give insight in the battery status and energy consumption. The battery system CAN-bus protocol communicates with other equipment and multi functional display and web interface for remote monitoring and service.
